Summary Elastomeric networks of high extensibility were prepared by end-linking mixtures of vinyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane chains having molecular weights of approximately 600 and 11,000 g mol–1, with silanes chosen to give junction functionalities ranging from 3 to 8. The resulting bimodal networks were studied in elongation, at 25 °C, to their rupture points, and in swelling equilibrium in benzene at room temperature. The elongation moduli [f *] were found to be in satisfactory agreement with previous results obtained by end-linking hydroxyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane chains. Values of [f *] at low and moderate deformations gave relatively low values of the ratio of elasticity constants 2C 2/2C 1, which is a measure of the extent to which the elongation changes from approximately affine to nonaffine as the elongation increases. The low values obtained for this ratio are presumably due to diminished interpenetration of configurational domains in the case of very short chains. In spite of its small magnitude, 2C 2/2C 1 does show some decrease with increase in , as predicted by the recent molecular theory of rubberlike elasticity developed by Flory. The swelling equilibrium results were also found to be in satisfactory agreement with theory. The elongation moduli increased significantly at high elongations, and the values of the elongation at which the upturn was first discernible were very nearly independent of , This is consistent with the interpretation of this anomalous behaviour in terms of limited chain extensibility. The maximum extensibility generally decreased somewhat with increase in and this caused a decrease in both the ultimate strength and the toughness of the elastomer, as measured by the energy required for rupture.  相似文献

Interpenetrating Polymer Networks (IPNs) based on Poly n-vinyl 2-pyrrolidone (PVP) and Acrylonitrile (AN) were prepared by irradiating PVP solutions prepared in AN. PVP/AN mixtures were irradiated by 60Co-γ rays at room temperature at a dose rate of 0.5 kGy/hour. IPNs were characterized by using FT-IR and Thermal Analysis techniques. The chelating adsorbents containing amidoxime groups were prepared by the reaction of these IPNs with hydroxylamine in aqueous NaOH solution at 50°C. These amidoxime containing adsorbents were used in adsorption studies for the recovery of uranium from aqueous systems. The adsorption capacity of an IPN with equivolume fraction of PVP and amidoximated PAN was found to be 750mg UO22+/g dry amidoximated IPN.  相似文献

用微型反应注射成型机制备了以聚氨酯(PU)为弹性相的两类同步互穿聚合物网络(SIN),其刚性相分别采用保留仲羟基的乙烯基酯树脂(VERH)以及封闭仲羟基的乙烯基酯树脂(VERA)。用傅里叶变换红外光谱在线跟踪了这类互穿网络的生成过程,发现刚性网络抑制了PU网络中硬段有序结构的形成,两个网络间有一定程度的互穿,而两个网络间的化学键作用进一步削弱氢键强度。自旋—自旋弛豫时间的测定进一步表明网络间存在一定的互穿以及刚性相对于PU硬段结晶的抑制作用。材料的力学性能与其SIN的形态有关。VERA网络对PU表现出明显的增强作用,而由VERH网络形成的SIN则由于体系相分离进程受到严重阻碍而使材料性能恶化。  相似文献

Two series of interpenetrating sulfonic acid resins (ISAR), 10×n and n×10, were prepared by means of the wet method, and the physicochemical, thermodynamic and kinetic properties of the ISAR were measured. The results show: 10×n resins exhibit better properties than n×10 ones, mainly in higher apparent degree of crosslinking and larger conformational entropy effect, among which, 10×1 resin exhibits the best thermodynamic and kinetic properties. In the DTA graphs of n×10 resins, there are two T_g and two T_(ox), but in those of 10×n, only one T_g and one T_(ox). This result well supports the conclusion that 10×n resins have much better interpenetrating structural aspects.  相似文献

A model is developed to express the solute diffusion coefficient through semicrystalline polymeric networks. The crystallites create impermeable diffusional barriers around the amorphous regions. Solute diffusion is determined by applying a transport model to the amorphous phase and incorporating the crosslinked polymer structure characteristics. This model is tested with theophylline and vitamin B12 permeation experiments through semicrystalline poly(vinyl alcohol) membranes prepared by annealing of amorphous PVA membranes. The degree of crystallinity varies between 23.1 % and 40.5 % on a dry basis. The solute diffusion coefficients correlate well with various parameters of the model.  相似文献

Poly(hexafluoropropylene oxide), poly(HFPO), networks were prepared from functional polymers by end linking via urethane groups. The prepolymers were characterized by NMR spectroscopy and GPC. The networks were characterized by determination of the number of network chains from the shear modulus, and were snown to contain both trifunctional crosslinks and difunctional links. The properties of the networks were investigated by a range of techniques. Compared with fully-fluorinated networks formed via triazine cross-links, investigated previously, the urethane-linked networks were more readily prepared but were poorer elastomers, were less thermally stable, and were less resistant to swelling by common polar solvents. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Stereochemically labile copper and zinc complexes with the N,N'-dimethylethylenediamine ligand (dmeda) have been shown to be promising precursors for the total spontaneous resolution of chiral covalent networks. (N,N')-[Cu(NO3)2(dmeda)]infinity crystallises as a conglomerate and yields either enantiopure (R,R)-1 or enantiopure (S,S)-1. A mixed-valence copper(I/II) complex, [{Cu(II)Br2(dmeda)}3(Cu(I)Br)2]infinity (2), which crystallises as a pair of interpenetrating chiral (10,3)-a nets, is formed from CuBr, CuBr2 and dmeda. One net contains ligands with solely (R,R) configuration and exhibits helices with (P) configuration while the other has solely (S,S)-dmeda ligands and gives rise to a net in which the helices have (M) configuration. The whole crystalline arrangement is racemic, because the interpenetrating chiral nets are of opposite handedness. With zinc chloride (R,S)-[ZnCl(dmeda)2]2[ZnCl4] (3) is obtained, which is a network structure, although not chiral. Total spontaneous resolution of stereochemically labile metal complexes formed from achiral or racemic building blocks is suggested as a viable route for the preparation of covalent chiral networks. Once the absolute structure of the compound has been determined by X-ray crystallography, a quantitative determination of the enantiomeric excess of the bulk product can be undertaken by means of solid-state CD spectroscopy.  相似文献

The apparent molal volume and adiabatic compressibilities of some transition metal (Mn2+, Co2+ Ni2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, and Cd2+) sulfates have been determined at 25°C. Values of to 11.4 cm3-mole–1 and to 31.3 × 10–4cm3-mole–1-bar–1 at 1 atm were found for the formation of the transition metal sulfate ion pairs. These results are in good agreement with the values obtained from the high-pressure conductance measurements of Fisher et al., Shimizu et al., and Taniguchi et al. The volume and compressibility data indicate that 3.1±0.7 water molecules are lost when transition metals form ion pairs with SO 4 2– . The fractions of inner-sphere ion pairs (20%) estimated in this study are in good agreement with the values obtained from ultrasonic measurements.  相似文献

The application of the combination of experimental design (ED) and artificial neural networks (ANNs) for the quantification of overlapped peaks in capillary zone electrophoresis is described. When the total separation cannot be achieved by separation techniques, the use of ED-ANN can be a suitable approach. The unstability of EOF causes peak shift that has to be corrected in order to apply ED-ANN methods. In this work, normalization procedure of electropherograms with consequent application of ANNs for quantification purpose was developed. Both, spectra and electropherograms can be used as multivariate data. In general, both kinds of data were found to be suitable for unresolved peaks quantification by ED-ANN approach.  相似文献
